- Postdoctoral fellow to work in an exciting project funded by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) entitled “High-Resolution Profiling of Body Fat Immune Cells in Brazilian Populations”
The project is coordinated by researchers Marcelo A. Mori (UNICAMP), Mariana Boroni (INCA) Pedro Moraes-Vieira (UNICAMP) and was the only project from Latin America to be selected in a very competitive call.
This position requires a candidate with a completed doctoral degree, with excellent academic records and distinguished communication skills in English (both verbal and written). Above all we are looking for someone who is highly enthusiastic about science and wants to help us pioneering the single-cell technology in Brazil.
The candidate should have proven expertise in handling high-throughput data analysis such as bulk RNA-seq, single-cell RNA-Seq, genetic or protein interaction networks, machine learning, and programming skills including R scripting, Python, Java or Bash. A Master’s or PhD degree in computational biology, bioinformatics or systems biology is ideal. Experience in both computational and wet (experimental) labs is a plus.
Full commitment to the project is mandatory, although most of the tasks could be accomplished remotely. The candidate should have a strong desire to publish high-quality research papers, good communication and problem-solving skills, proactivity, and the ability to work in group. The selected fellow will receive salary equivalent to FAPESP postdoctoral fellowship and will benefit from being part of the CZI and Human Cell Atlas networks and collaborate with some of the most renowned scientists in the field.
